About

Hi! I'm Olly Jackson, a 29 year old culture and technology loving Web Developer living and working in Edinburgh.

In my spare time I do freelance web development and design. I develop and maintain bustrackr, improving on a flawed public service. I admin a flickr group on Edinburgh Urban Art, I was an initial writer over at Google Sightseeing, and I'm the webmaster for the North Pennines Heritage trust.

I work at Whitespace as a Digital Media Developer. Previously I worked for three years at Valley Technology as a Web Developer where I did bespoke web application development. Previous to that I spent two years working for Scotweb Marketing at the ecommerce coal-face of Scotweb Store and on various client sites.

Stalk Me

Bio

I was born in Sheffield, England, in the marvellous year of 1981 and moved to the small industrial suburb of Thornaby before I was 1. My parents and I lived there for a couple of years before moving to the slightly larger industrial suburb of Billingham. I attended Bewley Infants and Junior School and then went on to Billingham Campus School. After my GCSEs I gained a place at Bede College where I studied Computing, Mathematics, Business Studies and General Studies. I then upped sticks and moved to Scotland to attend Edinburgh University to study Computer Science. After university I had grown to like Ediburgh so much I decided to stay! I've now lived here for over ten years and love it.

If you're fascinated by my life story so far and crave more information there is a page of random facts about me.

Colophon

This is the seventh iteration of my site. Previous designs are archived for historical (and comedy) value.
